According to the data of Quarterly Monitoring Report of Chinese Search Engine Market Q4 2015 published by the industrial database of Analysys recently, the market size of search engine operators for Q4, 2015 reached RMB 21.47 billion, an increase of 2.0% compared with Q3, 2015 and an increase of 32.0% on year-on-year basis

In Q4, 2015, in terms the revenue of the Chinese search engine operator market (excluding channel revenue), Baidu accounted for 80.30%, Google China 10.42%, Sogou 5.96% and others 3.32%.
 

In Q4, 2015, in terms of the revenue of the Chinese search engine operator market (including channel revenue and overseas revenue), Baidu accounted for 76.73%, Google China 9.95%, Sogou 8.44% and others 4.88%.


In Q4, 2015, in the revenue of the Chinese search engine operator market (excluding channel revenue and overseas revenue), Baidu accounted for 85.54%, Sogou 6.69%, Google China 4.09% and others 3.68%.


Analysis of Analysys shows that the transformation development of the search engine market for 2015 deepens the role of connection by search and thus the service function property of search; the business mode of search with the advertising revenue as the core is gradually diversified, expanding application of search to medical, education, financial, life-support service, tourism and other field, and thus gradually forming a service-based ecosystem with search as the core.

In China, Google adopts a strategy of doing something and leaving something undone. On one hand, it returns to the Chinese market via investment in emerging entrepreneurial search engine enterprises. On the other hand, it actively mediates with all parties to resume part of businesses, such as the ones in relation to Google play, Android OS, in China. In the future, it will realize powerful resumption of the search business, promoting improvement in Chinese search engine technologies and services and creating development vitality in the Chinese search engine market.
 
Sogou witnessed a rapid development period in 2015. It cooperated with Tencent WeChat and News Client in provision of search technologies and big data analysis. It made a strategic investment in Zhihu and carried out deep integration with Zhihu. It took the lead in making arrangement for search in the social search field, thus developing the advantage of the platform search, the Zhihu search, the voice search and other differentiated products. Meanwhile, it carried out integrated display of search results by search intelligence algorithm and knowledge map systems, for personalized search of users, such as celebrity search, movie and television search, etc. The innovative search technology and products of Sogou are worth looking forward to.
 
The market structure is stable with mature development of the search engine market in China. In 2015, search engine operators enhanced application of innovative search, and search engines are gradually applied to fields of basic necessities of life. Under the direction of the big search ecosystem, the search is more and more boundaryless. In the future, business models, which are more suitable for search requirements of users, will be derived from search, which will lead the reform and development of industries.
