In 2016 Q3, the maternal and child segment of China’s B2C market reached RMB34.86 billion in size, a rise of 24% year on year, shows the Quarterly Monitoring Report on China’s B2C Market 2016 Q3 published by Analysys.
As to market landscape, Tmall.com ranked the first with a market share of 46.8% in Q3. JD.com ranked the second with 26%, and VIP.com ranked the third with 4%. Suning.com, Yhd.com and Dangdang.com closely followed.
The “content + community + e-commerce" mode kept penetrating into the e-commerce area and gradually emerged as an ecosystem, and star mothers and maternal & child communities displayed bigger potential in the online maternal & child area. New retail will bring about changes to the industry in future. As consumers have growing rigorous demand for quality of maternal and child commodities, O2O integration will spread over a broader range and in greater depth in the industry.
